About Marie Xypaki

Marie is an educationist with over 10 years’ experience in enhancing Learning and Teaching in universities in the UK. Marie has substantial experience in education development and teacher training and she is currently an Educational Developer at SOAS University in London. Drawing on her interdisciplinary background in sustainability (political science, urban planning and education), her research interests include Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in higher education curricula; Critical Service-Learning in urban planning curricula; Decolonisation and co-design of higher education curricula. Marie has raised over £400k for ESD, staff-student partnership and knowledge exchange projects since 2012. She has led the development of national and international higher education networks (US, Europe, and Asia) and she has extensively presented her practice and research in national and international conferences.  She has received awards for her contribution to education and impact on the local community.
