is seeking a
German Language Assistant
For the school year 2020-2021
Are you a native German speaker with a real passion for German culture and language?
We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, energetic individual to support students working towards GCSE and A-level qualifications. The majority of teaching will be with individual students or small groups and planned in collaboration with classroom teachers, but some time may also be allocated to work within the classroom alongside the teacher.
There is no teaching at the weekends, and Assistants are required to teach approximately twenty-three 30-minute lessons from Monday – Thursday each week, with Fridays free every week. There will also be the opportunity to teach some private German lessons which are paid in addition to the basic salary.
Queen Ethelburga’s is a boarding school situated approximately 9 miles from York and meals, during term time, will be provided along with accommodation for the year also being provided within the boarding environment.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out four hours’ boarding duties per day (Monday-Thursday) within the boarding house. More detail of this will be available at the next stage of the process.
