Student assistants needed / Studentische Hilfskraft (m/w/d) gesucht
Student assistants are needed for investigating the effects of light and nutrient availability on growth and biomass partitioning of seedlings of different species. The study is a part of the RTG 2300 “Enrichment of European beech forests with conifers: impacts of functional traits on ecosystem functioning” subproject 8 “Resource availability and seedling establishment”. The facilities are located at the Department of Silviculture and Forest Ecology of the Temperate Zones and the Experimental Botanical Garden. The offered contract is from October 1 – December 31. Two 40 h/month positions are available. Working hours are flexible, but have to be regular.
Tasks include:
- picking leaves and needles,
- packing and labelling samples,
- destructive seedling harvest,
- washing and weighing the samples,
- scanning the leaves and needles.
Requirements:
- English proficiency to communicate the tasks with the responsible doctoral student,
- positive attitude, patience and self-motivation to carry out uniform tasks for a prolonged period of time.
